Highland Dance Dubai is a professional dancing school, and we encourage students to respect the decorum of the studio, before, during and after class. Bring water, but don’t drink too much during class.
- For beginners, Highland Dancing can be danced barefoot or in soft ballet shoes. After the first couple of classes, we encourage students to buy Highland Dancing ‘pumps’, available online or in the shop at the Ballet Centre, Jumeirah.
- Classes start promptly - please be on time - aim to arrive 5 - 10 minutes early. If you happen to arrive late, please enter quietly and begin stretching.
- Please no jewellery or watches.
- Hair tied back neatly and off the face, preferably in a high bun.
- Wear light clothing and be prepared to sweat! A black leotard with loose-fitting shorts or a netball skirt over the top are recommended attire, however for first-timers, a short sleeved shirt with shorts or a skirt are also okay.
- Do not eat for at least 2 hours before class.
- When you come for a dancing class, leave your anxiety, stress and thoughts at the door – it is time to focus on dancing. The harder you work, the more you will get out of the class.
